OUR MATERIALS ARE
OUR MISSON

Prana was brought to life when founder Jess was on the search for wellness products that aligned with her values and addressed her concerns for the environmental impact that some products can have.

Most products she found were made from various synthetic materials, many containing toxins that would eventually end up in landfill.

So, she decided to make her own—sourcing renewable and sustainable materials that would limit stress to both the environment and your back pocket.

Acupressure mat

Our acupressure mats are one of our most complex products. Unlike other acupressure mats on the market that are made from synthetic materials, Prana acupressure mats are filled with natural by-products from coconut and buckwheat.

By using these products, we are repurposing the old while also reducing the need for new synthetic materials to be produced that would take years to break down as waste.

Buckwheat Hulls

Buckwheat hulls are the filling we use in our acupressure pillows. This is the product left over from processing buckwheat for human consumption.

An advantage of using buckwheat hulls in our pillows is that Buckwheat rarely suffers from insect and disease infestation. As such, growers don’t use herbicides and pesticides for their protection. In fact—there are no pesticides and herbicides in the market specifically designed for buckwheat farming.

Coconut husk

The insert in our mats is made from 100% coconut husk. This material is completely natural and non-toxic, provides excellent air flow, and again, makes great use of a product that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Using by-products is a fantastic way to reduce waste and promote sustainability for the future. By choosing our mats over other synthetic products, you are not only supporting a brand that is trying to make a difference, but helping the environment and your own wellbeing at the same time... now that's a win-win!

Cork

The benefits of choosing cork are almost endless!

Since cork is a regenerative material, it is simply harvested from the tree before the tree then begins the process of creating more cork for the next harvest.

Not only is it extremely sustainable, cork is antibacterial, non-toxic, durable, grippy (even more so when wet), lightweight and affordable.
Therefore, it is the perfect choice for your next sweaty class or trip away.

We could go on forever about cork... try it and see for yourself!

Natural Tree Rubber

As you probably guessed, we also use natural tree rubber for our yoga mats due to the eco-friendly and non-toxic properties. This ensures our products remain free from toxic nasties like PVC, making them not only healthier for you, but healthier for the planet.

Our Eco Lux yoga mat is extremely durable and boasts a larger size and thickness to most mats on the market.

The perfect mat for beginners to experts who enjoy feeling supported throughout their practice.
